What to expect...

What to Expect:

An initial phone conversation with Aileen or Gerry, to discuss your needs and what might be helpful, may be the place to start. She/he will listen to you and offer advice on what might be helpful. He/she will explain their therapeutic approach and how this way of thinking/working, may be helpful for you. You then get to make a decision about whether you would like to make an appointment for a full hour long session.

In this initial session, you will have the opportunity to explore your difficulties and what might be helpful in more detail. Again, at the end of this session, you can decide if you would like to proceed with therapy.

There is no specific time limit, but some people choose to specify a set number of sessions, after which they may want to review their progress and make a decision about continuing therapy. This is a personal choice. Generally, therapist and client work on preparing for ending of therapy together.
